My Itinerant Life.

Welcome, readers!

Hello, and welcome to my blog. As my first ever readers, you and I get to begin this journey together. I’m excited and a little nervous, as I haven’t written anything longer than an email since my college days, but hey blogs are all about the journey, right? New ventures almost always bring with them a feeling of hesitation, but, like a baby learning to walk, every step strengthens and instructs.

So here I go.

My reason for beginning this blog centers mostly around a desire to chronicle my fiber journey. I recently dove into the deliriously glorious world of tapestry weaving. As a kid, my creative pursuits were more like explosive impulses, and I burned through a dozen different media in a month then deciding I wanted to pursue everything. This creative ADD lasted all the way through college. I pursued music, French, Creative Writing, Organizational Communication, and Interior Design, and then one day it happened. As I sat, utterly enthralled, through my first Fiber Arts course, everything became clear. I’m talking beam of light, angels singing kind of clear. I was meant to create beautiful art with my hands. If any of you have had such a vocational epiphany, you know what kind of exhilarating and relieving experience it is. I finally found my calling. I dabbled in different aspects of visual arts, from calligraphy to illustration to knitting, trying to find my niche. The moment I began weaving I knew this was it.

So here I am, designing away in a tiny corner of Sacramento, California, with my web developer husband and our two enormous cats. I’m thrilled to embark on this journey, and I hope you’ll follow along with me as I weave my way through my itinerant life.
